Exhaust Gas Warning Light HELP PLEASE!!!
« on: 31 May 2009, 22:41 »
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum so please go easy on me!

Iv just bought a golf gti mk5 DSG 55reg and after a couple of days driving I have noticed the exhaust gas warning light come on, it briefly flashed but it is now on permanently.  The car drives fine with no loss of power and its not kicking anything out the back either.  The only thing I have noticed is a slight hunting/judder on tick over but it is only very slight.  One thought I had was that I ran it low on fuel and then filled it up with shell v-power, maybe that dragged some crap though or it was dodgy fuel???

Any help would be much appreciated.

While on the subject does anyone have a Vag-com in the Preston/chorley/leyland area that I could check it on and would it be worth buying one?

Thanks again Martin.

Sounds like your engine management light is on and you have answered your own question, could be anything and needs to go on VAGCOM to determine what the problem is.

it's the lambda and air-fuel mix, most likely
