LOL. I'm SUCH a noobie! Funny though.
« on: 31 May 2009, 09:46 »
Well, I've got so embroiled in reading the manual that the task took over from where common sense left off....

Got to the section about the controls. The rain sensors in particular. Thought, "ooh I wonder how these work".

Got wifey to get in the car. Did what the manual said in terms of setup.

And threw a jug of water on the screen......

The wipers went balistic and removed the poured water very effectively from the screen.......
Back on to me!

My, they ARE sensitive!
And I was wet!

LOL

I never really use the rain sensors TBH - or the auto lights either.
Prefer to just put them on myself when I really need them.

I've done the same thing when defrosting the windscreen with a jug of warm water, forgetting about the rain sensors.

Lol when I had mine, every time joined the motorway/decent A road, the first thing i did was try to go the autolights on a quick as I could by staying over 80mph (i think it is) until they turn on!

I leave auto-wipers off until it rains and just flick it on then. You can change the sensitivity using the setting on the stalk.

The autolights come on if you stay over 80mph for thirty seconds.
