Got more money for xmas than I expected so hopefully I can afford to have a set of FK Highsport coilovers fitted at the same time when it goes away to voodoo in the next week or so. Should handle aswell as it goes in a straight line now.

Not a lot has been happening to the little 20vT. She pretty much sat on my drive for a few weeks without moving. When I did come to move it the battery was flat. oh well. let it run for a while on the drive and it's been fine since.

Gave her 160 highspeed miles last night on the way to Ali's and she performed very good. I decided to try and get her running with some boost even though the management is pretty shot. It basically runs as it did before, but we some boost. With the actuator still seized you have to keep an eye on the boost gauge as it'll overspin if you hold onto the gears too long. Still I can get some power down and let off some of those sorely missed 'dumps'.

Decided to give the calipers a fresh lick of paint in a lovely yellow :D much like the porcshes of course. Only managed to get the 1 corner done today. Will try and do the others tomorrow. Also found out the source of my weird noises which turns out to be a knackered wheel bearing on the front letting the whole disc and wheel move. this is then touching on the splash guards and probably the carrier. Will get voodoo to sort that soon.

No idea when it's going into them. Hopefully this month :(

Got the other 3 calipers painted up over the weekend and they look good. Very shiney, that was until I drove another 160 miles. they're a bit dirty now. anyways. I'll wash her soon :D

Ordered up a 4 bar Fuel Pressure Regulator today from Westec in Newport. Grant did me a little deal on it and gave me free P&P which was nice of him. That's another item crossed off my list of things to buy to complete the engine. Here's the list at the moment

DTA EXP48 ECU (£450)
DTA loom to connect ECU to car
3 Bar map sensor
K04 turbo setup (£430)
TT low compression pistons (£300)
20mm wrist pins
4 bar FPR (£40)
Metal water pump impellar
Mk3 golf throttle body (2E) (£40)
Solid front engine mount (£65)
G60 rear engine mounts
a new timing belt

I think that's about it. Quiet a list I know
I shall cross more off as a I go along

And as my thread hasn't received any pics for agggggggges now here's one of the latest purchase :D

All my shopping for parts is finally over. Ellie will be supplying the rest of the parts as I'm sure he can get a better deal than me.

Started work on the door pods today in work and they're taking shape nicely. Built the one side up ready to the fleeced and the shape will be there then ready to cover. Still a bit to go, but I'm sure these will be better than before.

Here's a pic of my shopping! Click it for a 1600x1200 pic.

As funds were starting to get a bit tighter than I had first hoped I was going to leave the shocks off my list of things getting done when the engine went in as these were £400. After speaking to a few people a set of pretty much new KW shocks with springs for the handsome sum of £130 came along. Bargin!

Not a lot really happening at the moment. Still waiting for Elie to give me the go ahead so I can hand over my car and get things started. It's getting a little tense as I told him I'd like the car back on the 8th of March. he says if push really does come to shove he'll do the work at his house if the workshop isn't ready yet.

I fitted my focal speakers into the car over the weekend to start running them in. They sound sweet as f**k in the mid-range of the music, but the top end is very over powering even with the Xovers set to -7db. Had a little play with the settings on my headunit and things are getting a bit better. I think I might need to move the tweeters down into the footwells and see what things sound like then. My new door pods aren't going anywhere for the time being. Still as they were 3 weeks ago.

Finally a day where it wasn't mega cold outside and the sun was out for a bit so I decided to install the new loom I made up for my electric seats. They're working good now. I ran the power wire into the boot where it's connected into the main power for the ICE.

I've had a remote bass adjuster for a few years now, but haven't had it in the car. so today while I had the seats out and the carpets up decided to put that. My wires had been on show for a while now so I also tucked them out of sight too.

All in all a good day's work for me. Finally got to do something to my baby :D
