Hey guys lookign into lowering the car its a mk2 gti and was wonderign what kits or coilovers to get. Not looking to spend much really just want to lower it around 34mm. Max 50mm

On ebay there are loads of cheap coilovers but obv you get what you pay for has anyone had any experince with them?

The price on some of them kits are wild. Would sprigs fit straight onto my standard shocks? i no afetr a while they would cause more stress and wear but are the springs a direct fitment?

I have cheap springs on mine at the moment, and the ride is horrible, i doubt its improved the handling either as they came with the car...
avo do a good kit for £250 by the looks of it.
(thread hijack)
im tempted to get some avo roadsports or eibach and boge turbo, anyone recommend either?
Im swaying towards the avo roadsports, but its £400, but the dampers are adjustable...

boge turbo stuff is good, had the shockies on my first 8v. rear ones seemed rather firm though but may have been goosed.

springs on their own on standard shockies and you will be bouncing all over the place.

Just throwing this one out there but those coilover kits from Gmaxx are £185 for golfgti forum members on here.

Id say thats a bargain, may not be the most advanced technology but worth it fot £185 notes
