What Oil?

thats correct although apparently its good for remapped cars 

hmm may have to mention this to my mechanic as i bought the oil last time but he said as it didn't need longlife he would get it this time.

 

was only told that by Teutonic_Tamer on here but in all honesty i just use the normal stuff - i think i've only had to top it up once in 16,000 remapped miles and even then it wasn't even half a litre

I serviced it in January and done over 6K since then - still sits on the max mark

I had Castrol in mine last time but was too bloody expensive as you had to buy a 4 litre an a 1 litre, have only topped it up once in the 10k since the last service.

Think i may just go with the oil he supplys should be of good quality as he does work at a porsche garage.

I used castrol edge turbo diesel 5-40w last time how difference do you think there is between it and the vw recommended oil ?

I've just been to VW and bought the oil for my car and it's 5w 40 fully synthetic and thats on 10k / yearly servicing. He put my car details on EKTA - Is everyone else using 5w 40??

Also, he said I'd need to change my car settings over to the yearly servicing - how do you do this?

Ive been wondering myself, how can you tell which service schedule your car is on? and how to change to annual / 10k if its on longlife?
