Thanks for the help guys. Has anyone had both cars and any thoughts. How does the MK4 R32 compare with the MK5 R32 and I mean in terms of driving pleasure not the quality of the interior.

IMO the MK5 is alot better to drive and more importantly alot easier to live with. MK4 ride was quite harsh at times but gave it a very go-kart like feel, helped by the support of the recaro seats.

MK5 is a little more refined, has nicer interior, and is alot more subtle than the MK4, which has very in your face looks. I was previously considering a MK r32 but realised than brian harvey (ex e-17) has one and drives round with one hand on steering wheel whilst leaning heavily to the left (complete with rude bwoy cap and shades). Quality car though.. slightly ruined by image of a select few.

The Mk IV is the worst incarnation of the Golf to date

Have you driven a mk3???

Yes mate - you're right, apologies to all Mk IV owners, the Mk 3 is the worst  :embarassed:

I'd still go for the Mk V in this comparison though.

Mostly a biased opinion, but Mk5, think the shape is much better!

regret is a bitsch, isn't it?
So why don't you trade your E30 for R32 then? Problem solved.
