jubilee clips
« on: 26 May 2009, 20:06 »
hi my top pipe indicated by the red arrow cam eloose the other day so was gettign no boost and black smoke

anyone know what size jubilee clip woudl fit it also i noticed that the other pipe slides into this one so how wud a clip keep it locked in ...it wud make sense if the pipe slid over the other pipe and then u fastened the clip but in this case the pipe that blew off fits inside the pipe and not over if u see what i mean

also need one for where the second arrow is but behind the cover  its the same pipe ...cheers

cheers

2ndred arrow is your EGR connection

i destroyed mine the other week and needed a new EGR

best bet is an EGR delete pipe from Allard - about £60

there is no way to get a jubilee clips on those connections - you need a new spring clip from VW but whats most likely happened or happening is the lugs are wearing away the housing and it could eventually give way like mine did

jubliee clips wont work, I've tried.
Buy some new clips from VW, 38p each and then cable tie them together by putting a cable tie around each pipe and then four ties between the two around the pipes, do these up tight and they should hold the pipes together, works for me

only because it happened to you  my egr has never come out, just the intercooler inlet and outlet pipe  (touches wood)
Am saving for some sfs hoses to eliminate the problem
Plus if my car starts running fine the hoses are going to be the least of my problems  :lipsrsealed:
