g60 is a lot less work. find a good motor and it'll basicly drop in

if you dont mind lots of work  get a big eaton tvs bolt it to an abf with forged guts and ms2 extra.
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

This was my idea, but need to a) get my car back, b) drop ABF in c) sort out a million and one other little things...

But one day in the non too distant future, ok next 5yrs, I will terrify myself with the fabled 'charged 16v.

Can't wait

I agree, saving the pennies for the bits I need, plus I fancy a LSD to utilise that power

ive done the swop, over a year hasnt missed a beat, no mythically charger problems or engine problems. if you look after it well it will look after you, treat it like crap and yes it will probably bite you in the ass and wallet.

i love the noise, and it might be simpler and not as tuneable as a 20vt but you wont beat the noise it makes

Make the noise, I live for the noise!!

4x4, 16v, 'charger, it's only a few steps away from your very own Limited. I'd have love to have built my black 5dr into a Limited, but alas tinworm.

Dolly, you have a 'charged ABF? sweet. What management and charger are you using? Any info would be appricated as I need "the noise" in my life...

Don't forget you colud also do this to your 8v:t3 turbo, custom manifold, double stacked metal head gasket, cossie injectors and megasquirt. Should see 200 bhp be more satisfying to build and alot cheaper than a G60. Or turbo a G60 block and have a rock solid engine and no G60 problems.
03 210 Seat LCR. Badger5 V2.2TIP, Fordge 007p, Wellycooler, Quaife ATB LSD, Nuespeed ARB's, KW Clubsports, 330mm discs, 3" turbo back de cat and still on the standard map!

g60's  need 60,000 mile overhaul whitch isn't that magor if done before problems develop costs more to do sme cambelts.

i think the g60 got it's reputation from companies doing crap rebuilds and some owners doing retarded mods.  200bhp and reliablity can be done happily if corners are not cut.  cut corners and reliablity goes out the window    a lot of g60 enthusiasts seem to think the poor quality ill fitting seal kits are mostly to blame, as well as people removeing the boost return hose.  the charger likes the oil mist and vapors from the engine breather  as that what keeps the tip seals happy

mines an 8v sorry to disapoint. my ibiza has an ABF maybe if i put the 2 together.... lol ive deleted the boost return at the moment as a trail thing, its very noisey and ive heard mixed reports about it causing problems. i do use a charger lubricant though.
