G60 Engine Transplant

Hey all.

Has anyone here taken a Golf GTi (mark II) and swapped the engine over for a G60 engine from a Corrado or Golf before?

Also, anyone know or used a 1.8 litre 16 vavle turbo engine in their car?

Would be cool to see if anyone has, conducting some research at the minute.

I've had a quick search through the Project pages but not seen a G60 engine transplant project. Can someone link me to one somewhere?

havent actualy seen meany g60 swaps been done recently,   it's pritty much as per retrofiting a PB but you have g60 enigne and a few extra bits of pipework to install get loom from car with hazzard light switch in same place and its plug and play.

challenge will be finding a g60 lump thats any good

I would pick a 1.8t to be honest much more tuneable.

No sorry I think it is a better engine than a G60, the supercharger has lots of issues.

I've never met a G60 owner that hasn't bemoaned reliability.

provided you service them regular 1.8Ts are plenty reliable, only get shaky when attempting silly power on crap fuel/stock internals.

Reckon G60 is the 'heart' choice 1.8T would be the 'head' choice.

If you really want a 'charger, and let's be honest who doesn't? Check out the site there's a few threads with links to loads of sites.
 Bahn Brenner in the states etc.

If you were going to the trouble why not get a mk3 8v 2.0 and sort out some SAM software running an eaton/rotrex charger?
