I removed the duct from the airbox to the back of the front valance.
(Does anyone know what the purpose of the duct terminating there is ?)
Then I drilled a second hole about 2" dia next to the existing inlet, and installed a Piper X panel filter. The result seems to be that I can now approach 100mph, when previously things seem to stop happening at about 85/90.
No quicker off the mark though.
I was considering fabricating a scoop/funnel out of glassfibre, cutting a slot in the front valance, and mounting it there, connected to a new piece of ducting to the box.
The idea being that induction begins to be forced the faster the car is travelling.
Is this advisable ?, or is this bad science ?
