Remaped AGU vs remaped AUM?
« on: 21 May 2009, 14:47 »
Is the difference big, no other mods just chiptuned engines, mine AGU did 15.3 sec 1/4 mile time, I have a friend with AUM waiting for remap and I wondered if his car is going to be much faster than mine after he ramps too?

Depends on the company mapping it and the map being used i assume - as in a custom map should in theory give a more optimum performance for that specific engine whereas a generic map may differ slightly depending upon engine condition, etc etc.

Having said that a generic map is generally AGU -> 195bhp / AUM -> 210bhp as a rough guide...so maybe slightly quicker?

Again, to avoid starting a new thread, and it is loosly related to the topic in hand - i was looking on the r-tech website the other day and noticed that they do a 225bhp ("spec 2") remap for my AUM - is this simply a case of paying the extra and hey-presto you have 225 instead of 210 or is it assuming you have an exhaust system fitted etc etc?

^ Yeah, Stage 2 normally involves a FTB exhaust, some sort of induction with sports filter and a custom remap to suite the mods.
