my car's back (again)

haven't had a good run it her yet as the road was damp on the way back from work and I've got naughty tyres on so didn't want to push too hard and end up in the hedge.

everything looks good and she's running really well now.

I need to clean her up ready for no rice on wed night, and I'll take some pics tomorrow too.

it's still got a few teething problems I'm sorting out. I'm cleaning up the engine slowly ready to take pics

you running a proper amount of boost now ?

my boost is f**ked up top. runs 12 most of the time and today it was maxing at 5! I've checked I haven't got a loose boost hose and they all look ok and I'm thinking it's electrical

12 psi would be about normal for a 150bhp car that isn't chipped/remaped, the 180's run 14 psi (from memory) with chipped motors running between 18 and 22 psi. 5 psi sounds like limp mode.. possibly overboosted at some point. Disconnect the battery for 20 - 30 minutes and then take it out and drive it hard, see if it makes a difference.

according to the golf+ standard 150's run 7psi  
it might just be a dodgy gauge reading wrong as it doesn't feel A LOT slower when it's running 5. so more than likely it's the gauge. off to get another starter now

im talking TT's   the 150 TT wouldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding, infact it may have only been available here as an import, possibly a different turbo setup to the golf.
