« on: 15 May 2009, 22:58 »
are there more than one type of fog light to fit big bumpers, i saw some on egay without the metal bracket it looked like they just clipped into the plastic fog light opening they look alot easier to fit than the big bracket type

i have seen a post somewhere where someone bought some non gen fogs that melted and set fire to his front end so if gen ones have a metal bracket i would go for them to be on the safe side

Fitting fogs, especially non-VW one's is a complete pig. Combine pattern bumper, pattern fog lamps and pattern brackets (like I did) and you'll be swearing a lot!!!

In short, they take a lot of work to get them to fit. I managed to get mine looking a bit better than the one's in your pic by bending the brackets a little until they fitted more snugly. They will never fit perfectly though.

Also note that when they are on the car they gaps around them are dark shadow, so its nowhere near as bad as it looks off the car.
