hi alan the rs is only fwd mate lol its the escort cossie thats 4wd and yes did consider mods but wasnt to flush especially with big repayments on gti and just didnt like having a car on finance with a huge final payment after 3 years etc im going to go down the personal loan route for the rs with a better interest  rate and just fixed monthly repayments as was being charged 13.9% by vw finance i can get a personal loan with a rate of 7.9%  and atleast if i got made redundant etc they cant take the car away once registered to the missus lol which they can with finance companys

Good luck driving it in a straight line ;)

But seriously it is a quality car, like you said a lot more hard core - and a hark back (almost) to the Cossie days! As an Essex Boy at heart I have grown up with fast fords and owned one, so a teeny bit jealous!

Original Focus RS is an animal, stacks of power therefore stacks of torque steer through those front wheels but good fun all the same.........prices have dropped on these a lot, but should hold its value as things start to improve

Matt, did you not consider making some mods to your GTI?

Mine is a completly diffrent car to drive after the mods Iv done and id hazard a guess at it being faster than an original Focus RS. OK it wont have the 4WD but . . . .

Just food for thought. Bit late now really. Best of luck (do like the Focus RS)

Focus RS Mk1 is FWD

Never fancied a mapped ED30 Matt?

would love a ed30 hurdy there is a guy at my gym who is there every time in his ed30 used to make me not like my gti lol unfortunately i just cant quite stretch to a ed30 at present as only looking at a budget of around 10k which seems to be spot on for a good mileage FRS

Ah, I see now.

Fair enough. I've driven the MK1 RS a long time ago and it does look the part, but it seemed a little "frenzied" in the handling department for me. Having said that it would probably seem quite tame in comparison now
