I like the original back box exhaust but i am considering it in stainless or possibly similar to the original with the twin pipes being straight cut.

Can someone point me in the right direction to purchase one or the other....Cheers

Why do you think specialist sites like this are for, not just forum chats and meetings but for information too.
too just say 'why don't you just search the net' is completely unconstructive and rather rude

I am not quite getting what i want on the net so that's why i asking on a specialist site like this one....thanks

Tramp I did a quick search for "back box" in the Mk2 section and found this
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=40244.0

Which mentions supersprint as an option

It is always worth doing a search before posting, as most questions have been asked before.

There was another result that popped up on the first page, which was a quote from Darnpb, he has a G60 with a really nice standard looking performance exhaust.

I hope this helps

Cheers

It's quite a difficult thing to seach for, unless you know exactly what it is you're after.

As far as i'm aware, only stainless system that looks like the original VW item is made by Milltek, but i've read something about them not being made anymore. As for the "similar to the original with the twin pipes being straight cut", do you mean coming straight out rather than at an angle? If so, i think Scorpion do something along those lines

Yeah, oakydoak16, that wasnt very helpful really.
I have been looking for something similar but cant seem to find one. I have heard that the standard system flows quite well anyway.
Im deffo going to give mine a clean with some decent metal polish tho.

I think the Scorpion one Mew is thinking of is the one I have, I bought it second hand to replace the loud oval one that was on it, the pipes are straight (not angled like standard) and slash cut,  I like it and would not change for anything else.  there are companies that custom make exhausts to customer spec, but when i looked into that a few years back for an old car it proved very expensive

These are the best pictures I could find of the scorpion one,
