'91 16v oakie. Press the button on keyfob, everything locks, then drivers door stays locked but passenger door, boot, and fuel cap unlock!!! So then I have to use the key to manually lock passenger door and boot, but I have to leave the fuel cap unlocked!
Funny though, as when im working in the engine bay and the batt is disconnected for a while, I reconnect the battery, press the button to lock, and all lock and stays locked. - (the first time!) I then press to unlock, all unlock, then if i lock again im back to square one, where all but the drivers door unlock themselves. Crazy I know.
My bro's '98 mk4 20v GTI non-T locks and unlocks fine with keyfob, but when using the central locking button on driver's door panel, all lock, then passenger door only unlocks itself. No matter if the key is in ignition or not! But you would only do that when in the car, so u can lock it manually! VW's seem to have a common prob then huh?
I have seen some central locking pump units going on ebay for £5-£10, y'know, the ones that you get behind the strap in the boot behind the rear-quarter panel. Is that what is needed u think? (for my mk2 that is!)
