Wheel polishing and protection

I am looking at doing a slight refurb on my wheels to get ride of some curb rash and I guess rubbing them down will remove any laquer, what i need to know is whats the best stuff to repolish them and how to protect them after relaquering them or can i leave that bit?
(I do have my machine polisher still and some autosol)

i sanded mine back the other day using ever finer grades of wet n dry, then used autosol and followed this up with belgom alu... followed with 3 coats of poorboys wheel sealant

mine is just polished rims innit



you can use lacquer if you want... but I don't know your wheels so can't comment

whoa there... have the wheels got laquer on originally?

there diamond cut and after looking at some scrathes they have a coating on!!

hmmm... in which case I would be very careful using abrasive polishing processes...

I tried a hidden bit and they have polished up well using some brasso and 1500 wet dry!!
