11.5k looks like a good deal to me but as said the prices are inconsistent, saying that all the higher priced ones (50%+) aren't selling so maybe that's an indication of them being over  priced? Am i going to get bored of DSG or is the manual paddle shift still good fun?

I have to be honest, and say that I sold my GTI last week and got £13200 for it....was an 2007 GTI DSG, 30k, Leather, Climate, Cruise, 18' Monza II's.  And it excellent condition with a years warrenty left.

The problem I see at the moment is that a lot people are selling cars to get quick cash (panic selling or to pay off debt). This is making the market very inconsistent and masking some true prices.  For instance I was offered £13200 (the same amount I sold privately for) as a part ex by a main dealer (Audi) based on used prices.  I did a Parkers valuation and got over 14k.

So, as mentioned, if you go on Autotrader, Pistonheads and average the price of privately sold vehicles it is considerably less than probably what they're actually worth.

It could work in your favour though...use the above as bargaining power.  "They're not fetching much privately at the minute mate...".

I think certainly less than £12k for that car...so £11.5 should be your aiming point.

And as I said i bought my 55 plate fully loaded for less than 9k!

Set yourself a budget, and what spec you want (which you seem to have done), don't worry about overpriced/underpriced - if its the right car for you and within budget, who cares what you paid for it? :)

I'm convinced the price's are on the up you lot will be happy too know.

Got my loan money through so at least I have the cash waiting, max budget £11.5k

Thats the problem living down here, most invlove a long journey which limits me too a weekend so too much time for others to sneek in and grab before me

Haha cheers for the support rhyso

Yep it's a definate now, unless i blow 11k on porn and whores  :undecided:

Seen another 2 in gloustershire but there from a dealer so prices are slightly higher. May take a trip up on saturday and see if i can haggle a go in both to decide wether DSG is for me or not... One side of me is thinking it may take the fun out of driving, the other half is thinking launch control!

Cheers for the offer AlanD  although you'll have to dig hard to find anywhere i haven't looked through already!

Spec is changing the more I look. Some pictures of interlagos look very light and  others look darker and  still have the leather if poss. Must be a 3 door as belive it or not I find it easier with my 1 yr old daughter in a 3 door, keep banging her head with the 5 door pulling here out at an angle  under 70k must have enough toys to keep me busy for 5 years +  ideally zenons but they are rare as fook! Won't buy a basic spec one though

colour choice black, white or that gunmetal grey , followed by red or silver, no to blue as i already have that..

£11.5k tops! although i'm always looking at more expensive ones to knock down on price.

The last one was up for £12.995 and he agreed to 11.5k but i was too slow, wonder how much he got for it?
