firstly its an mot failure and illegal, not that im having a go cos i had mini de catted, lol, just thought id get in in ;)
i found that it was more powerful, but i always had it in the back of my mind that it didnt run quite right if ya know what i mean.
if its the same on the golf i dont know??
when i put one on for the mot it ran so well but was fairly gutless...
your decision i think, just vmu opinion.

Believe me its a dead ringer for you! Even says something stupid!

De-cat will mean that you will have to have a cat put back in for mot, and taken off after wards. unless you have a friendly mot station. And if you cant do this, it will cost money each year to swap over.

Other option is a sports cat, cost about £200 and are a LEGAL high flor cat, almost as derestricting as a de-cat but will still pas an mot.

Other thing is that traffic police DO carry emmisions testers to do by the side of the road, and can find out if you have no cat on your car. Which COULD get you in big style trouble. That isnt worth it. But that depends on how you drive to draw attention to yourself.

Lots of points to ponder there...

I would leave the cat in to be honest, not much to gain by removing a modern one.

I have a full stainless with a high flow sports cat on mine and its nowt special and makes very little difference if any. Its a lot of messing for little gain!
