Good find with the garage...

Width of the trailer will always be an issue with garages. I can't afford one at the moment anyway so it doesn't matter, I'll be renting one for trackdays to begin with. £60 for 3 days isn't too bad compared £500+ to buy a knackered old one.

Easter Sunday, what better day to tinker with cars. Today mission to get the doors in a better state.

Stripping the doors down:

Both doors had rot in the front corners that needed cutting out:

I then used rust killer to make sure the panels wouldn't rust again (Wishful thinking perhaps!).

I then Zinc 182 primered all the bare metal I had worked on as well as over the shallow dents I gave a quick skim of filler to:

Next up to drop them back up to the workshop for Marcus to fab up and weld in replacement steel for the corners and then prep and paint them.

That's a few weeks off yet. Still need to sort out the front cage mounts, cage side bars, spreader plates on the floor to bolt the seats through, wire wheel all the rust off, sort the wings and weld up and tidy up the boot lid!

Bit of eBay shopping this evening.

1 x FIA Battery cut off switch
1 x Set of Scrutineer stickers
1 x Ignition switch and push button start panel
1 x 24" CB Antenna
1 x panel mount for above to go in the center of the roof.

I've also ordered the repair section for the filler neck mount from VW.

Hoping this weekend to get all the welding in the main shell completed so we can start prepping it for paint.
