Fair point but we're heading to rural france so hoping to find some quite stretches of country road.

Nick

Yeah be careful over there, they do not take kindly to speeding foreigners.  I drove all the way to the Swiss border with my cruise set to 85 all the way. (about 80 on a gun)... Police were hiding everywhere!....  Mind you I did get a chance to have a bit of fun once up in the mountains!

Heard some horror stories though, for example: a guy was caught speeding so they took his car, he had to fly home and then go back 2 weeks later to get his car back!...

I found the French Autoroute's a pleasure to drive on even though there are only 2 lanes.. 99.9 % of all drivers kept to the right unless overtaking and always returned to the inside lane, it was great!

It lives!!!!!!

Started it up for the first time in months. It took some encouragement but it eventually spluttered into life. I'd forgotten how bloomin fast it is and how much torque steer you get with full beans in 1st.

MOT expires end of the month so have some work to do. Looks like it needs a brake overhaul on the rears and a couple of CV boots and exhaust rubbers have perished. Hopefully that'll be it as it's only covered 300 miles since the last MOT.

It also needs a damn good clean and polish as the paint is completely flat.

Not sure it's ready for a trip out, need to check a few things over before I travel any distance in it. We should be there in the 5 though bud.

Update time!

Has no MOT.
Tax runs out end of October.
Not been washed in 12 months.
It has moss growing in places.
Not moved since May.

Sooooooo when I get back from hols it's getting a cleaning session, a clear out and service. Money dependent it'll then go in for an MOT to see what's what. After that it'll be SORN'd and stashed in a friend's garage until the spring when hopefully I'll be earning more money and have the funds to do what I want to do with it.

Mine too, but I've just been told that i fly back to Germany in three weeks time, well Crab Air permitting, then two weeks in work and home for POTL.  I'll then take her back to Germany and, hopfully, get some good quality time to do stuff, especially as the familly are now firmly ensconced in Kent.  So she'll be going back home and I'll get evenings to work on her, the real question is what to do? ;-)
