Well due to a lack of funds it looks like the trackday is off and probably none for the forseeable future.

Balls. How much is it and when? Can you get a copilot to go halves?

31st May. My old man was going halves anyway. It's just the car needs work, the day costs, plus fuel etc etc. Having taken a 15% pay cut since last year I just can't afford it on top of going on Holiday to France in a few weeks time on top of the Polo MOT, needing new tyres for the Polo, £90 on a bloomin passport. Can't cancel the holiday as Lizzie will kill me.

No not all, although the wife still moans about it.

Taking mt mum's Bora down not the Polo. Should be fun to open it up on the empty and smooth french roads though. Pity we're not taking the Old Man's Alfa GT but there's not enough space for all 4 of us and our luggage.

Given your parlous current circumstances I think going much over 80mph in France would be foolhardy - spendin your holiday money on a speeding fine probably wouldn't go down well with The Wife.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

Fair point but we're heading to rural france so hoping to find some quite stretches of country road.
