I've already checked. It did need a fairly severe 90deg bend when fitted tot he head but I don't think that was why it was reading low.

Head pressures will be lower than at the filter housing so either the guage is reading low at both locations or the pressure is a tad low. Not having a 2nd gauge means I can't confirm the gauge accuracy so it's either £25 on another gauge (which I won't need again) or £50 on an oil pump.

i doubt its the gauge seeing as it was brand new, but mine will be the same thread i think so can swap them over if needed

do you know how old the pump is? it might be worth changing anyway seeing as the car has a hard life! and it would be rude not to put a windage tray on and baffle the sump at the same time

That's what I was thinking, it's done a hell of a lot of trackdays and has suffered from a blocked strainer in the past which killed the bottom end bearings when Alex had it.

Think I'll pick up a pump tomorrow lunchtime. Would love to baffle the sump and add a windage tray but money and time is tight and as you know I can't weld for toffee!

Oil pump, low pressure sender and oil filter bought and collected today. Already got a sump gasket in a cupboard at home. Fun job for this weekend!

Anyone know if the pump needs a gasket on the mating face though? Didn't come with one and not having done one before not sure if it should.

Really?  Who with, as i cannot find the details anywhere.  Oh and as an  aside you still need to drop the baffles round so I can murder my sump trying to baffle it!  :lipsrsealed:
