Decided to just check that everything will fit and then leave it till tomorrow as it was getting a bit late to be banging about with cars in the close. Everything's going to fit so that's a result.

Only problem is the car no longer runs and I have no idea why, spins over, has fuel, has spark, has air but will just not catch and fire up. SO even if I fix everything that is needed for the MOT it ain't gonna pass without a working engine. Gonna have another try tomorrow once I've swapped the shocks over and bled the brakes. If I get no joy then I may have to get it flat bedded over to AF Racing and get Alex who built it to see what's up. It worked fine when I picked up from the MOT testers but it was still warm. I'm wondering if they fiddled with teh mixture or something to get it through the MOT and now it's been left to get properly cool it won't start but I am really clutching at straws woth that one.

I really need it running and MOT'd asap as I have booked and paid for a trackday on the 1st Sept and I sure has hell won't be using the Rado instead.

I think it might be more V-Sam Pro tastic kinda problem. The fuel pump doesn't seem to be priming when you turn the ignition on but I'm pretty sure it never has done.

Just checked the V-SAM Pro and it seems to be working fine as the extra injector is firing and it's all getting power etc.

I'm thinking it's either the battery isn't good enough and not spinning it over fast enough against the high compression or there's a fuel problem. It needs a new battery as I nicked it's battery for the Rado last weekend as that one dies so I'll pick one up tomorrow from CAF and see what that does.

Turns out it looks like some bad connections on the under car fuel pump. After a good wiggle it now seems to be fine. I need to bleed that caliper in the next week so at the same time I'll take the connections to the pump off, check them and clean it all up.

As for the suspension that didn't go so well. Removed the first one and found it had a solid topmount. Oooh cool I though, until all the bearing fell out. Doh! Other side has a G60 top mount that is a bit rattly so I need 2 new top mounts to finish the job. I put it all back together finger tight so I can swap the top mounts more easily later but I couldn't leave the car in the close on axel stands and needed it back on it's wheels.

One strange thing though, I didn't need the spring compressors for the shocks. once off the car the springs were loose enough. Never had that before and they were loose when refitted to the new shocks. Very odd!!!!!!

That looks expensive!

Would I be alright to borrow your gun-a-me-jig for the another couple of days so I can swap the mounts? If you need it back I'll happily drop it back later today though :-)
