1/2 a point to Mr Frankland. Another 1/2 point to whoever guesses what the "crap" is

Instant gasket, remains of the baffle plate or old gasket.

1/2 a point to you sir! It is indeed what's left of the plastic baffle after my engine ate it. The pick up was so clogged you couldn't even suck through it!!!!!!!

I don't understand how it could have come off as I spent ages making sure it was fitted properly the other month when I pulled the sump off for the paint in the strainer issue.

Anyhoo Mark has taken my sump away to weld some proper steel baffles in it and I shall be picking up a windage tray and Derv Gasket this week. Will reassemble, fully engine flush, refill with oil and see if it's OK.

Windage tray has arrived, sump has been baffled (cheers Mark and Si) and uprated headlight loom ordered (Was an advisory on the last MOT).

Just discovered the MOT runs out on Wednesday so need to crack on this weekend flushing the engine and fitting all the bits and get it in for a test next week and see what horrors come up. I'm fully expecting some welding on the chassis leg

I did delay for a couple of weeks cause I was fed up with it but the last couple of weeks have been waiting on parts/fabrication.

I was hoping to take it to an Auto Solo in mid september but that's looking a bit unlikely unless it passes easily.

If you need any welding done mate, Marcus will sort you out. If you can weld yourself, I got a beetle you can crack on with!
Project longterm Airbanger.
