Standard 16v's seemed to be pulling low 16's yesterday so yeah I'm chuffed. Lack of grip was a real issue, with all the neg camber up front it was just ligting the wheels up on launch and the change to 2nd. I always thought pod would be grippier but I got better traction off the traffic lights on the way home.

New radiator fitted and no more water leaking out = Good

Still getting Oil temps of 110 on the motorway and 96-98 tooling about on A and B roads = Bad

It's very likely we'll be hauling up the M3
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

I should be at home mate, depends if Jord has work for me. Mrs Horney will be in though.

If I'm in I can meet you somewhere easy enough.

Oil cooler collected from Mr Hell at the side of the M3. It's the MKI GTI style which has a different filter housing with an inbuilt thermostat and two take offs for the air/oil cooler. Spent yesterday afternoon doing some research on whether to run with or without the stat and figuring out how to get it all to fit. Today I've cracked on and so far got the oil cooler itself physically mounted in the car by fabricating a bracket for the slam panel and hacking out the lower part of the slam panel.

2 problems/issues that have arisen are that 1) the new filter flange is a bit thicker that the old on so not sure the bolts will be long enough and 2) I've not been able to get a filter housing gasket so I'm going to make one out of weetabix packet, gulp.

Result. Old gasket came off in one piece and in good condition and was re-used. Been out for a run and the temp never got above 92 despite it being a warmer day and I gace it some proper welly.

Down side is Oil Pressure concerns. The gauge used to be hooked up to the filter housing but due to the new housing there was no space so switched it to the head instead. Once warmed up I was getting only 25psi at full chat and 0 (yes 0!!!!) at idle. I;ve only ever had the buzzer go off on a trackday and that was once so I'm a bit confuzzled. New oil pump next weekend me thinks and if that doesn't sure it then time to get it booked in at a garage for proper diagnosis. Not going to track it till I'm sure I know what's going on.
