Also a meaningful update. It's still running a bit too warm (108 deg on the motorway) and my rad is leaking from both ends. Best get a new one of those then! Hoping a new rad, a good flush, a filter and oil change should bring the temps down.

In your last run you can see the Earth bending and wobbling under the 8v torque  :grin:

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Next time I go to the pod it's semi slicks and no front camber. I reckon that'll get me closer to 15.

Apparently James' old 2.0 16v did 14.9 when he took it up there. While watching yesterday I was certainly not the quickest MKII but neither was I amongst the slowest.

well i think a standard 16v does it in 15.5ish, and from what i have seen 2l 16v's do it in 14.5ish, so your time is pretty good considering a standard 8v probably does it in 16 to 17 secs!
