5 door's good or bad?

hi all,

i recently lost a good job due to ressesion and now have a new job but terible pay so im in a situation where i have had to hand my current car a saxo vtr back to finance company but still need a car! so i started to save for a golf gti. today i finished work and my gf had some great news!!! my gf's parents went and baught me a mk3 golf gti  as they knew i was looking for one im well chuffed  :smiley: ill pay them back slowly  :cool:  they did it to try help us get back on our feet a lil. its a r plate in maroon 60,000 on the clock full service history and new m.o.t they thought it was a to good of an offer to refuse an baught it with out telling me and the gf first lol how ever the only thing i could fault it on, is its a five door  :shocked: i have a thing for five door cars i hate them lol but the golf dont look to bad in a five door. whats peoples thoughts on five doors?

I had one, they seem to suffer less rust issues in the sills.

deffinatley prefer a 5 door mk3 to a 3door no idea why  :undecided:

I have the same thing with disliking 5 doors and i dont no why  :undecided:

five doors aren't so bad... I always had 3 doors up until this golf and you don't really notice it looks wise...



far more useful though day-to-day to get stuff/other people in and out

sounds like you got yourself a good motor there

i definelty prefer my 5 to my old 3 door golf just makes life easier, plus there's chuff's comment too   :grin:

honest John`s mk3 golf review states  "Three-door models flex quite badly (five-door models are better)." No idea why
I always prefered 3dr golfs then had a couple of 5dr mk2s and a 5dr VR and found out they just made life that bit easier plus the doors dont sag over time like the larger sized 3dr can..

Mines a 5 door Mk2. Slightly worse looks, but loads more practicality. I would buy another.

I Think 3 doors look better in most cars but I still chose a 5 door for practicality.
