Induction kti question

I was just wondering...

On a Golf 1.8 CL which has reportedly 75bhp... what sort of hp increase would a standard (probably K&N) induction kit provide?

It's a petrol, not a diesel (sadly, next golf I get will probs be a GT TDI), in case that makes a difference...

if its a decent kit your probably looking at between 2-5 bhp

haha someone belives what the suppliers say    truth is if its a kit without a GOOD cold air feed your likely to have no gain (possibly even a loss) even with a good cold feed you would only see 1-2bhp tops but they do sound great

You need industrial size tubing coming from every gap on the front or your car, and bonnet lifters.

This with a cone fileter will give you 20bhp.

Easy...

Dunno about using industrial tubing from every gap on the bonnet, I'd imagine the tubing would get in the way of other components when it comes to working on any other part of the engine? And bonnet lifters?!

Still, a boost of 20bhp would be nice...

You're not serious right? 

You know what sarcasm is?! Mikester was being sarcastic...

As said, on a good day, well maintained & serviced engine with a good free-flowing exhaust etc. you'd probably get an extra couple of horses from an induction kit with a dedicated (& shielded) air pipe.

On a standard 1.8 you're probably just gonna hear it if anything

Ahh right, I just thought the "easy" bit was sarcastic lol... and I thought 20bhp was a bit of a high gain from an induction kit, but thought I'd take his word for it!

Tbh, stick the cone on mate, It makes it sound nicer. And with a 75bhp if you loose 2bhp from "heat soke" or make 2bhp from the "cone filter" then its neither here nor there.

Do what you like, and it i will sound better
