VDO Gauges
« on: 05 May 2009, 17:01 »
Might be able to get my hands on some of the above but doesn't come with the twin pole sender. How hard are these to come by and how much we talking for the sender?

Know you can buy the t piece but cant find anywhere that sells the sender.

Thanks

Thanks dude. Guess i'll be getting down to the scrappy.

Another quick one cos the more i read the more i get confused. Temp sensor. I need an Audi 180 degree sender - 049 919 563 A. Or is is B on the end (one post says one another says the other) Sound about right?

Paid £12 for the sensor second hand off ebay.

I got mine off an Audi breaker that was listed on ebay. I emailed a few and they all had these so plenty out there
:)

Just bought some gauges and sensors. Now just need the t-piece and this:

http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=3531&xSec=120

About the above piece. Anybody used this:? Was look in the car eariler and the ashtray and cubby hole thing above it are one piece of plastic. Does this part replace it all or will i be doing some modification to it, i.e cutting out the ashtray and cig lighter part?

Thanks

I have one o them in my car, you need to chop the ashrtray out and fit. pretty good bit of kit actually, i happen to have a spare face. You get 2 in the pack, the idea is to clamp them either side of the console with the vdo clamps, but I just used a long bit of metal bar to clamp all 3 gauges and the face either end of the console. other option is to glue it in :)

Spare you say? Could i by any chance persuade you to part with it, for a nominal fee of course?
