Didnt realise they had come down in price that much!! thats a cracking deal for a great car! Anyone with £20-£25 to throw at a car can get some serious machine for that money at the moment.

Understand your dilemma, but IMHO (and I've just sold my mint Mk V GTI to buy a Touareg ), I'd stay with either the GTI or R32, no question. The rest are a compromise and maybe worthy considerations but given your selection options, you are looking for a comparable car to the GTI without the theft potential. Ignore this, crime stats show very little repeat victims - don't let some scrotes spoil your life and enjoyment. Learn from the theft and take suitable precautions (CCTV should be a reassuring option).

Good luck with the decision, I wouldn't touch the original stolen/recovered/repaired car at all.

Z4M is 330bhp, which should be more than they ghey 135.
