Insurance group for MK VI GTI DSG

Anybody know what the insurance group is for the new GTI? The MK V was 16 but not sure if it is staying the same with the extra 10BHP!

I would hope it stays at 16.

I only used comparethemarket and I was quoted £358 from swiftcover, they didnt have much in the way of benefits, so best was £364 from admiral who gave courtesy car etc.

What quotes you getting ?

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

haha, i wish, i have 6 points (speeding) and only a years no claims so i am getting around 950!!!!

That is with admiral as well but it does not specify it as the 210bhp car, just 2009 model which makes me think they are pricing it on the old car and i just don't know if it is the same group.

p.s. have you been on comparethemeerekat.com?? it is quite funny!!!

6 points  I'm either very lucky or I'm a sunday driver  You should protect your no claims, its not that much more expensive.

Yeah been on meerkat before, its pretty good, I love the tv AD. Its very clever.

My best on compthemarket is from Admiral, breakdown cover, legal cover, no claims protection, courtesy car, windscreen cover and personal protection is £428 with £250 excess. When I'm ready I'll probably go for that.

I'm hoping the Admiral quote is accurate, they may be pricing it on the old car as you say, but the mk6 is still a 2009 model.

Thats a long story, i always have to change insurance companies everytime i get a new car (as tehy wont insure the car i am buying and ir is always in the middle of a policy too!) so i rarely finish many years to get any more years no claims. You can't protect until you have 4.

Support the failing economy and i have to pay for it through the nose for it! As the person from direct line told me yesterday, you should stop acting like a boy and buying new cars, just keep your existing one! Yes thank you for your help on that direct line!!!

The GTi will come with 1 year breakdown cover as all VW's are covered on the VW breakdown service until they hit their first birthday so you could take that option off to save money.

I hope admiral is too, the though of paying more in not good. The first Polo i got was just over £1600 to insure!!! if i am paying that much again, i will be in tears

If you add your mum/dad on your policy does that not bring it down any ?
