I'm sure I've seen a mag feature on a Mk2 that had a VR6 conversion with an autobox fitted cos the owner was disabled.

I have definately seen some Mk1s with autoboxes, although only the 1.5 and 1.6 engines, both tin-top and cabs around to choose from though.
