tyre options and advice??
« on: 03 May 2009, 11:00 »
Hello everyone, just wondered what brand of tyre you use and any advice on what to go for?   I am looking for 195/50/15 for the front that don't wear down too quickly. (especially with my driving)

so far I have seen toyo t1r's and looking at yokohama parada? anyone got these??

don't want to spend too much as really its for the MOT purposes.

Also any good websites or if anyone knows anyone that sells tyres, let me know.

Many Thanks

Chloe

i bought 195/50/15 toyo T1R's on thursday and im loving them. Still not fully worn in, only done about 50 miles on them, but the amount of grip is awesome. The day i got them it was pouring it down and even though they were brand new they still gripped very well. Ive got one roundabout which I use for grip testing, and the toyos a by far the best so far. I deffo recommend them!

i paid £189 for mine including balancing. the 195/50 rubber also fits so much better on the standard VW wheels.

I just fitted 205/50/R15 Admiral tyres x2.
I have had em before and for a Chinese tyre they are soft and grippy.
Best bit £45 each.
Dont ever buy Nan kang or Wan li's if you want to stay on the road.
I have given up on "good Tyres" as round here its nail city and i lose   at least one tyre every 6 months which is allways expensive and inconvenient and i hate being rushed by Kwik fit

Yoko Pradas are rubber dressings, they look nice, but dont expect much when it rains and you need to go around a corner. lol.

T1-R's get mixed reviews, better than a ditch finder £20 tyre.

yes mate, a good opinion tho as iv used both, i suggest you try something different next time then you will see how crap they are, granted they will be much better than some very cheep ditch finders (which you prob had before??)
