MFSW buttons.....
« on: 01 May 2009, 13:07 »
Can we clarify what all buttons should do please??

The way I understand it (and the way mine works) is....

Left side...
Volume Up and Down buttons = obviously for volume!
Star button = mute
Phone button = OEM bluetooth, if installed (no use fo rme as I have a parrot kit)

Right side...
Menu Button = brings up the menu on highline
OK Button = to make changes etc in menu
Up/Down buttons = goes through menu options etc.

Now......should I be able to change CD tracks, or radio stations using my steering wheel? If so, how?

Also, Im thinking of having Cruise Control installed - how would this work ie. where would it be switched on/off etc?

The menu button scrolls through the modes on the highline, so when you're in audio mode the up / dn arrows will change tracks.

Cruise is operated via the left hand stalk and is fiddly as fcuk compared to my skoda which has them on the steering wheel.

The phone button doesn't do anything with the (Skoda) bluetooth kit.  The star button can be left as a mute or can be used for voice dialling.  Calls are made/received by using the OK and Up/Down buttons.

You should be able to change tracks, staions etc using the buttons but you have to be in the highline audio menu.

From what I can remember (haven't used it for a while), the buttons do nothing with the satnav (RNS510) but you can still change music tracks while viewing the map.

As stated previously, the cruise control is all done via the indicator stalk and has nothing to do with the MFSW buttons.

The stalk is replaced with a cruise control version.  Switch on top to switch on/off and toggle switch on the end to set/adjust.

Ah, I didnt realise that.
How would you use it though, press the phone button to take a call or end a call?

This is the Parrot I have - not sure of the model number etc.
I dont even know how to use it properly yet! I still make or receive a call via my phone, and just use the parrot to talk/listen through! lol

I have a Parrot CK3000 Evolution with multi-can and my phone button on the steering wheel works.  You need voice-dialling on your phone, set up voice tags then simply press and hold the phone button to start/finish a call.  For example, press and hold then say your voice tag to start a call and to end the call just press and hold.

Im not to bothered with voice tags - would just be nice to start and end the call with the phone button on the MFSW.

Which parrot kit do I have (from image above), and is this possible with my setup?
