Hi There ive had a revod tt - didnt have a great experience with the remap and had it taken off in the end as the car smelt like it was going to blow up.
It was fast and the 4wd kept things in check
The standard gti will feel a bit slower in comparison but in anything other than wet conditions the fluid handling of the golf wins every time. The golf interior isnt quite as special in my opinion but I still think its great althougth I have got leather buckets and a silver Centre console surround which lifts the interior a bit for not too much cost.
My Gti came with the switchable Revo remap which in contrast is superb very progressive and feels like it is oem - very similar to a standar ed30 with just a bit more. A remapped ED30 must be mental!!
With the remap on its very very quick - feels quicker than my remapped TT was. In terms of how the car performs with a remap, I can comfortably keep up with my pals 997s on the twisties and he cannot pass me when following - still leaves me for dead on the straights. Jag 4.2 xk8s get very surprised. The remap really turns the Gti into something very very special in my opinion - some of my previous cars include E46 M3, Rs6, F355 - to date its my favourite car after the F355 - thats how good I think it is.
Get one - get it remapped and you wont be dissapointed.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Yanek
