Couple of pics...
« on: 27 April 2009, 15:45 »
Well after a hectic weekend in Bournemouth and a damn good christening for the car on the way there i finally managed to give her a quick wash and take a few pics today...

Will get a decent sig sorted soon... Had a damn good go at the exhaust too, required a hell of a lot of elbow grease but it's looking vaguely shiny now!

Watcha reckon? Please ignore random Photobucket edit tools... My PC is a bit on the wobbly side.. lol

Tidy, glad you finally got it.

My exhaust was a nightmare to get clean and stay clean. The only alternative is to go Miltek (lol any excuse), mine is nice and shiney now and actually stays shiney.

Well, forge d/v, remap and miltek (in that order) i think! Please also ignore the state of the car if there are any mad detailers out there, i'm a complete nub when it comes to it! Did get a few tidy buys from halfrauds on the weekend though, 3 for 2 on cleaning products!

How much did you pay for your remap Al? I've been toying with the idea of going to r-tech since i had the 1.8t, is it worth waiting til the car is out of warranty?

I got a VERY good price off R-Tech as I did it as part of a group buy with some of the MK4 chaps. I'll PM you the price.

I was going to wait till my warranty ended as remapping WILL invalidate your warranty should some bad happen but couldn't wait and got it done 7 months after purchase lol. Its up to you really what you want to do.

If you take your car up to Nick and Ben they will fit your DV aswell (which is much more complicated on the MK5 as you need to get it up on some ramps, unlike on the MK4).

Looking good there :)

If you don't mind my asking, where did you end up getting your car from? And also did you have to bargain hard for that price?
It just goes to show that the one I was looking at was really taking the "michael" ;)

Nice one - thanks for the info :)
The thought of an ED30 had crossed my mind, but tbh, Wifey is looking to change her 306gti6 for a Golf mk4 GTI (diesel) later this year. So I'd rather get a "cheaper" GTI and mk4, rather than overspend on just my car :)

Besides, I'm in no hurry - need to sell my S4 first!!
