Washing in the rain - Environmentally friendly
« on: 27 April 2009, 15:02 »
Partly out of laziness, I've started washing my car in the rain. I leave it a while before starting, to get any dirt and grit wet and loosened. Then I go out with the two buckets and shampoo it down. Then I go in and make myself a drink, letting the rain rinse off the shampoo.

I use less water, only using two buckets, rather than the hose for pre-rinse and after-rinse. So save on water bill (am on a meter) and on time, no messing with hoses.

Anyone else do that? Or am I just a loony. :D

I've only had a quick look at the car since washing it yesterday but think there's no dried water droplet marks, which I had lots of when I rinsed with tap water. I know I could towel dry but don't like the extra work and risk of scratching.
