First timer
« on: 27 April 2009, 01:00 »
Hi everybody, another beginner here, never owned a VW before and was persuaded by my boys to buy an 87 MK2 GTi as they both have one. It needs work and although i have played with other makes for lots of years i don't understand VW's yet so will probably ask a few dumb questions, my car has an exhaust blow on the manifold gasket or a crack, it looks a real pita to get off too  Site looks great so i'm off for a look round, cheers, Mike

Thanks for the welcome guys, i'll take your word that they are easy to work on, i think you are right, it's just the manifold and down pipe that look to be a pain

Yeh most the engine is easy to work on... few nuts and bolts that will make you swear lots but its alot easier than most modern cars where you can't get to anything!
