Hello, new to this. I have a 1995 GTI golf but i recently got hold of a:
1996 1.6 Golf CL left hand drive. 'europe'
I as wondering do any of you on here know what all extras where on the special edition 'europe' models?
Any information would be great!  :cool:

heres the info i have for the europe model based on cl or gl models from 1993 to 1996

equipment as golf CL/GL with the following:
4-Türer Steel wheels 6 J x 14 Tire 185/60 R 14 ,green thermic tinted glass
split rear seat
height adjustable driver's seat
2 head restraints in the back
Power steering,
ABS (std from 1996)
Sliding/tilt glass roof, solenoid operates, with shutter 
Radio " beta" , with two speakers (until 1996) radio " beta" , with four speakers (starting from 1996)
tachometer
electrical window (GL)
height adj steering column (GL)
Heatable washer nozzles

Thanks for that! I never realised that the 'europe' meant anything special untill i done a few internet searches.

I dont know what to do with the car, weather to modify it or not. Its far too solid of a car, bought of an old man who had from new, fully stamped service books, even the reciept of purchase! She is in absolute stunning condition!

Yes it was made in the 'Wolfsberg' plant and is still on the original german plates, still has original dealer stickers and even the toolkit. never been smoked in either. lol

What do you think i should do with her?

It's a difficult question...but it sounds like a good project and worth keeping for the "unusual" factor, and you wont see another around  :cool:

It's a difficult question...but it sounds like a good project and worth keeping for the "unusual" factor, and you wont see another around  :cool:
Might just keep her in the garage for years, i got underneath her the other day. I can not find one small bit of rust, no broken cv boots or drives or anything. I think she is a keeper  :smiley:

My original plan was to turn her into a full GTI replica or else go for the 'European' look. Because of its cheaper maintance costs and also its acceleration. Its hard to know. lol
