Mfa LCD
« on: 01 August 2004, 19:22 »
Hello all
my LCD does not work on my cab(the display is broken). I was wondering of you can just change the display(if so where can you get one?) or will I have to change the whole clocks?

  Great site BTW

you can get old of the MFA as a separate board housing the brain to the MFA and the LCD screen which is fixed to a small board, very tricky just to replace the LCD, if possible at all.

There was one on ebay 2 month ago and it went for a fiver, i dont think the seller knew what it was. there are a few still on ebay but the price has shot up to the ?50 mark.

You can either buy a set of MKI clocks or MKII with the one plug type on and remove the MFA from it. You will have to take apart the clocks but you can still use your original equipement once setup it is easy to do its more tricky getting the clocks out the dash first.

pick a set of clocks up for ?20, you can find some in scrappies for a tenner.

hope thats of any help.

easier to just replace the whole clock unit.
also it does not matter if you buy 2 or 1 plug type as alll the smaller second plug does is connect the change display from data 1 to data 2/reset (the older one had the switch on the clocks the later ones were on the stalk)
the display scroll will still work on the stalk.
