Just go in and ask for the bits you need.
I've bought various engine parts and bobywork trim and they have stocked... say 85% of the bits i wanted.

If it's still made, most of the stuff I've asked for has been next day if they don't have it on site

Most places probably wont keep them on site but can get them within 2 days, things are quickly becoming obsolete though so its best to go in and ask, if you are spending a lot then ask if there is any chance they can do discount, im lucky as im good mates with the guy who works in my local dealers!

It will all depend on Dealer to Dealer.....The one in Lincoln really didnt want to know and yet my local ones back in Peterborough and Spalding have always been top notch on ordering parts in!

My parts bloke manages to get hold of the part for me even though they show up as discontinued. Not sure how he does it.

Most parts have been discontinued now and you might struggle to get wings and stuff from your dealer.

A very good link who works for VW did mention something about VW planning reproduce all old parts as new car sales have dropped. They can profit well on old mk1 and mk2 parts. Something like that but dont my word. Would be good

You may find a lot of items are now no longer available, they only have to provide spares for 10 years, I had a 1996 mk3 and found loads of parts that were nla.
