New VR6 owner, Leeds.
« on: 24 April 2009, 22:47 »
Well after lusting over the £22k VR6 Black Highline during my youth, I finally decided to start looking for one at the end of last year. I finally stumbled upon a gem last week. 1996, 1 owner from new, FVWSH EVERY 12 months regardless of millage, completely standard, 72,000 miles and a book pack with every service invoice (last one £1200!), MOT and task disc, got it for £1315. I nearly died.

The car is immaculate inside, rear seats never been sat in, boot immaculate, every switch, function working and only a few scuffs to the body work which are been sorted next week.

I am also now another £2000 lighter as I have some bits on the way to get it sorted. I said I would spend £4000 max on a VR6 package so I have'nt done bad so far. I will post some before and after shortly. But I can honestly say of all the cars I could have bought, including getting my self financed up to the eyeballs with a porsche or m3 or whatever, I absolutely love this car and THAT sound. My mate has just bought a new M3 on finance and has already lost £4000 and has only owned it a week! The GFV are appalling with BMW finance at the moment and he still went ahead!? I have'nt seen any other VR6's in Leeds but every other car is a friggin M3. I guess you cannot buy taste, although my next car will be the new GT3...(in 10 years).

The VR6 has to be the bargain of the century and you don't have to spend loads to get it planted, and boy, what a car for the money?!?!?!? (just don't mention insurance, fuel and servicing...)
