« on: 24 April 2009, 11:31 »
Got my Jetseal through today, i just wnted to check its definitely fine on the paintwork? I know a lot of people use it on the wheels but not so sure on the body, looking forward to trying it.

jetseal is great stuff, very easy to use. I would polish the car first, then two coats of jet seal, wait twenty mins between coats and then you can wax on top of it. Dont wax then seal mind

I use it on the chrome front, the wheels, lights, windows and exhaust and any painted surface (including under the bonnet)

I was thinking Meguiars NXT Wax, then a coat of Jetseal, is that not good practice?

Cheers for the feedback from everyone so far,

And there was me thinking that there wasn't anything of use or interest outside the MkV section...

That would be bad practice    .. it should be done like Rob said  :nerd:

Jetseal first,  and at least two coats !!

For best results polish the car first with a polish with a bit of "cut", like Autoglym Super Resin Polish (i.e not a wax)

Sorry to bring this back up, but is Jetseal OK to use just as a quick protective layer or will it be essential to apply a layer of wax too? I am giving the car a wash tonight before heading for a 500 mile round trip tomorrow so was hoping to put a layer down to protect.

By the way i took a good look at the detailing section, great advice in there will post in there in the future with such questions,

Cheers,

R

you dont have to wax over it but you can. If you just give the car two coats of sealer that will be enough to get a good finish but you should polish first to get the best result's.
