what do i own, headlight Q

Hi all have just joined and have a 1984 black golf Mk2 Gti.

i have so many questions that i am slowly finding answers to.

the car  i have say its registered in 1984, it has single headlights whereas all the Mk2's i have seen have got the grill lights also.
did they make them with both in the early years?

Humm could be correct. Do you have stripe stickers down the side of the car or a length of plastic trim? Also is the interior striped with thisk stripes from left to right on the seats? Is the exhuast a single exit or double?

Hey man, welcome, I'm from Pompey too, good choice in color  :wink: :wink:

As far as I'm aware, they did come from factory with the quad lights, though I'm not sure if they came with the single light grills from factory, I always thought they were aftermarket grills.

The very very early ones (non sunroof, single pipe) seemed to come with only single lamp grills.

That washer bottle looks big was that standard on the early ones as well.

have took some more pics, waiting to upload, my brother says its an early GTi as was his car.
has got a twin DTM on back at mo. will upload the photo's so you can see.
