after a lot of highway and one fuel additive i got a record 505 miles out of my 8v
only doing 65-70 at most and have few stops
so it went like this
95 octane + one lucas fuel additive + brand new air intake + not much stopping = 505 still with barely enough to get to the fuel station  :smug:

My valver is cheap compared to what i got used too, and i'm only 18

My old saab, i was normally just over £80 to fill up (could only run premium because of tune), and got 250 miles.... eat that boys for poor mpg lol  On a topspeed run with it once, i managed to get an average of just over 4mpg over a 3 minute period lol. But then  on the other hand i drove down and got to about london on one tank driving carefully (approx 550miles the tripometer was saying).

With my valver, i have been commuting from edinburgh to aberdeen every weekend. Last time i did it i got 43mpg for the whole journey  thats ace  and at uni now (in other words skint) i'm getting 45mpg wherever i go, although that involves no heater, no radio, heaps of free wheeling even about town, sticking to 60 on motorway, changing gear always at about 3000, but its doable. Oh, and the most important thing, making sure i don't hear induction sound. Then i know i'm accelerating too fast   I'm gonna get over 500 on my next tank, i'll fill up to the top and take note of the mileage, then report back.

Tom

Not very

Mine shoots to 99.9 when I reset it, then slowly settles back down to the 30s/40s

I thought it takes an average reading as of the moment you reset, so 99.9 is as you are probably going down hill, or in neutral, or not touching the accelerater, so you'll be getting much better than 99.9 but thats as high as it goes, then it averages out...

I was going about 20 last night in a que of traffic, and my computer was saying 26.8 mpg.. I really hope that isn't 100% accurate!

I use my 8v for long commutes at present which over the week mount up to approximately 420 miles, and i always do this on 1 tank of fuel, been doing the same journey for 7 weeks, and it consists of a bit of motorway and A roads.. average speed over the run is around 50mph...and usually put in around 45-50litres..
The fuel gauge i think doesn't read right low down, as i always run into the reserve...the MFA generally reads around 40mpg over the tank (as i reset it every time i fill up), and the most i've seen on a individual run is 48mpg, but typically 40..
Around town before my long commutes cam along, i was getting around the 300miles to the tank.
