I drive a mk3 GTI 8v,

I average mid 30's to 40 out of town and mid 20's in town... low 20's if I feel the need to have a blast.

I generally get about 300 from a full tank, but Then I'm really startin to look for the petrol stations

got 335 once but was mighty pleased when I pulled up at the pumps!
Wouldn't be fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

Just driven from worcestershire to the lake district (i do it twice a week) and got a record 46.7 mpg from my gti colour concept. took me 2 hours and 40 mins. i was trying to keep it at 70ish (down to 65 over hills). My average for this journey is approx 43mpg. Not sure why this particular journey was so good although i was behind a large vehicle for about 80 miles inbetween birmingham and manchester; i guess the drag helped me along.

My mpg info on mfa 2 is 41.1mpg over the last 3094 miles. Not bad eh?

I'm well feeling the V-power difference, I'm usually lucky to get 320 out of a tank of 95, but brimming it with V-power so far has given me 350, and I've got about half of the reserve left.

I'm getting nowhere near 300 now as I'm only rarely doing journeys of more than 10 miles, most are only 3-4.  Did a long motorway stint at the 1st fillup this month and was getting 45mpg but it's dropped drastically since then.  The most difficult thing I find is that once the fuel gauge hits the top of the red reserve section it doesn't move so I've got no way of telling how much reserve there is, although I've never put more that 40 litres of fuel in.  Makes it really hard to eke a tank out.  Anyone else find the gauge doesn't move from the top of the red?
