220bhp through the standard gearbox.

He has a fair point, these T5 have a really bad reputation for clutches and driveshafts even with standard power.

Oh just live a little, you grumpy old sod.

(I know about the reputation of the T5, naturally - 130PD chipped to 150bhp is about right).

Lower is the wrong way with a T5 anyway:

4Motion and portals is the way forward, clearly.

that sportline looks wicked!!!

crap vans tho if your into lugging things about, very poor load space, Transit is king or a sprinter :) but im guessing the owner of the blue one didnt get it for loading heavy bulky items about hahaha, think it looks pretty good, thought it would have got a better reaction on here... no pleasin some folk hahaha

He uses it every day, he customises Harley D's and other bikes and carts em around in it

I doubt he's that arsed as his mate does all the work for a pint
And how can you say 150bhp is about right when the sportline is 174bhp ? Are VW that stupid they would make a van that would keep breaking clutches and driveshafts ?

Meh, that's an 88bhp TDI T4, not a T5.

There have been a LOT of problems with the 174bhp T5s.  Speak to the specialists and they'll tell you - go for the 130 and chip it.

Get with the programme.  It's not all about the headline BHP - reliability is a useful feature, too.
