Maybe you'd be better off with a second one and you can make one good car out of two derelict ones.

What you need is a good rust-free shell and a working engine. The rest you can work on.

cheers all, i really want the car to be original, its got 80000 on clock which for 25 year old think is pretty low. engine moves with crank being turned so know its not seized.

thinking of a 100% restoration try make it mint.

there is alot of rust at front just need to seek some advice from a pro as to whether can repair it

i think its testament to VW that the car is in such ok condition being its age. must have been some good steel used back then.

im a BMW fan so at least this is german also.

started stripping the golf and doesnt look good...

front end ny on rusted through all over. not easy repair.
floorpan like a sieve.
thats as far as i have got.

afraid this one is to be broke. not ideal but its gone to far i think.

yep have consulted a resident expert and its not doomed to the parts pile. such a shame but think its to much for one man.
