Has anyone ever tried this.....

http://www.getgeared.co.uk/NEVR-DULL_Magic_Polishing_Wadding

Apparently removes the stuck on carbon to leave your exhaust shiny, and can also be used on alloys to get brake dust off easily....
Seems like wire wool type stuff, thats much more gentle and doesnt scratch....

Was thinking of getting a tin to use on my exhaust now and then, to keep it clean from carbon buildup - just wondering if any of you guys have used it before???

00 wire wool wont scratch and removes all the baked on carbon. Any minor scratches are removed by the metal polish http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/accessories/-00-wire-wool/prod_377.html

I use MF too. But then again, when I clean my exhaust, I use: alloy wheel brush, engine degreaser, WD40, autosol, 00-grade wire wool, washing up sponge, MD cloth.

1. Spray engine degreaser in and around the exhaust tips. Leave for a good while.
2. Agitate with brush (I use a cheapo alloy brush from halfrauds), wipe.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 several times.
4. Start the car up and gently dab the throttle to get rid of any remaining loose crap.
5. Clean using WD40 and MF cloth
6. Dry with cloth and apply polish
7. Work polish using 00-grade wirewool if necessary
8. Work polish using green side of washing up sponge if necessary
9. Work polish using MF cloth
10. Buff off with clean MF cloth
